The Bronchos fell to 6-4 on the season following the loss and are now 0-1 in the MIAA after Thursday's opener. Pittsburg State is 6-3 overall and 1-0 in league play.

"The blows keep coming and we're not handling it well," UCO head men's basketball coach Bob Hoffman said. "We're getting hit left and right and we need to find away to adapt and overcome. We're not making excuses, just going to keep on working at it and trying to figure it out."

The short-handed Bronchos played its starters most of the contest, getting just 31 of 200 total minutes off the bench.

Pitt State went on a run and led by 13 at the under-15 media timeout in the second half. The deficit remained the same midway through, and then it was back into single digits at the last media timeout under five minutes. But Pitt pulled away again, outscoring the Bronchos 10-4 in the final five to get the 77-63 win.
