EDMOND - The University of Central Oklahoma women's volleyball team defeated East Central 3-0 on Saturday in its first match of the day in the UCO Crossover Tournament at Hamilton Field House.

The Bronchos won in three sets for the 11th time in 12 matches this season, UCO has won 35 of 36 sets played. East Central would make Edgar Miraku's team work for it on Saturday.

After the Bronchos took the first two sets 25-16 and 25-18 respectively, East Central jumped out to a lead in the final set and played in control almost until the end.

When Miraku called a timeout with the Bronchos trailing 23-19, things changed. UCO went on to win the final six points and take the match.

Taylor Bevis led the Bronchos once again with 10 kills. The sophomore hit .421 with only two errors in the match.

Fulani Petties played a big role for the Bronchos early in the match, with three of her four kills in the first set. Freshman libero Dominique Lipari had a solid game for the Bronchos as well, recording 14 digs in the match.

UCO has one contest left in the tournament. The Bronchos play Southern Nazarene at 5 p.m. Saturday.
