Bronchos Go To Fort Hays State Festival

Central Oklahoma looks to get the 2015 season on track this weekend when the Bronchos travel to Hays, Kan. for three games in the Fort Hays State Festival.

UCO, 0-3 after getting swept by Arkansas-Fort Smith in a three-game road series last weekend, takes on a pair of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams in the three-day event.

The Bronchos open at 4 p.m. Friday against Regis (2-1), come back Saturday at 4 p.m. to play Colorado School of Mines (3-0) and then meet Regis again Sunday at 1 p.m.

UCO hit just .260 and had a team earned run average of 8.25 in the season-opening series with the Lions.

Ethan Elroy (.444), Josh Ingram (.357) and Isaac Hellbusch (.333, two homers, six RBI) led the offense.

The Bronchos are scheduled to make their home debut next Tuesday with a 1:30 p.m. single game against intrastate rival East Central.
