OKLAHOMA CITY (April 5) – Central Oklahoma's offensive woes continued here Friday night when the Bronchos managed just five hits in a 5-1 setback to Oklahoma Christian in the first game of a two-day series.
It was the fifth straight loss and eighth in nine outings for UCO, which has scored three runs in its last three games. The two teams meet again Saturday for a 2 p.m. single contest at Wendell Simmons Field.
Central broke on top 1-0 in the first inning and it stayed that way until the third, when the Eagles pushed across four runs. OC added another run in the seventh and that was enough as the Bronchos had just one hit in the final six innings.
Tyler Crabtree led off the game with a single and he stole second before going to third on a wild pitch and scoring on
Jared Wright's two-out single to give UCO an early 1-0 lead.
The Eagles scored four runs on five hits in the third to take the lead.
