SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Sept. 2) –
No. 16-ranked Central Oklahoma capped off a perfect season-opening weekend with a 2-0 shutout of Texas A&M International here Sunday afternoon.

The Bronchos, who beat St. Mary's 3-1 on Friday, dominated from the outset against the Dustdevils.

UCO took the lead in the fifth minute when Stephanie Fleig scored off a Brittni Walker assist and it stayed 1-0 until the final 20 minutes when freshman Ciara Mitchell notched her first college goal on a pass from Sarah Purcell.

Caitlin Bond and Jordan Hutchison keyed UCO's defensive efforts.

“We played better, but still need to improve on our team chemistry,” head   coach Mike Cook said.  “It was a very positive weekend for us.  We got to play a lot of people and our new players all did well.

The Bronchos make their home debut Friday, hosting Midwestern State at 4 p.m.
