DALLAS (Feb. 16) –
Fielding woes and a punch-less offense were too much to overcome for Central Oklahoma here Wednesday as the Bronchos fell to the University of Dallas 7-0.

UCO committed eight errors in the nine-inning contest after having just five miscues in the first five games of the season and was held to four hits in dropping to 3-3 on the season.

“You can't expect to beat anybody making eight errors,” first-year head coach Dax Leone said. “We just have to move forward and focus on playing clean baseball.”

The Crusaders scored five unearned runs in the game, taking a 1-0 lead in the first on three UCO errors and then breaking the game open with a five-run third on a pair of hits and three more fielding mistakes.

Dallas made it 7-0 in the fourth with the aid of yet another error.

Taylor Brown had two of UCO's four hits.

The Bronchos resume Lone Star Conference play this weekend, hosting Cameron for a 1 p.m. doubleheader Friday and a 1 p.m. single contest Saturday.
