Biography

Transfer from long-time Division I power Wichita State who will fill a key role this season . . . Is the front-runner to start at shortstop and will probably bat at the top of the order . . . Sure-handed fielder with good offensive skills, an excellent all-around player ready to make an impact.

WSU:  Played in 76 games with 47 starts the past two years for the Shockers . . . Hit .227 in 28 games with four starts as a freshman and then batted a team-high .338 with 43 starts in 48 games last year . . . Had 52 hits with eight doubles in 154 at bats with 16 multi-hit games, including one 5-for-5 outing . . . Put together a nine-game hitting streak during one stretch.

High School:  Schoolboy star at Edmond Memorial High School, earning All-Conference and Edmond Sun Player of the Year honors in his final season . . . Led the Bulldogs to three straight state tournament appearances, including a runner-up showing . . . Hit .461 as a junior and .415 with a .543 on-base percentage as a senior for the Bulldogs.

Personal:  A business administration major . . . Father (Stan) played baseball at Wichita State . . . Enjoys hunting and playing golf in his spare time . . . Names Michael Young as his top sports star . . . Birthdate is Nov. 12, 1988.
