UCO Falls To Stars

OKLAHOMA CITY (April 3) – Central Oklahoma lost a pair of close races to Oklahoma City University Saturday morning in a women's rowing dual held on the Oklahoma River.

OCU won the Varsity 8+ match in the time of 7:08, with the Bronchos just 10 seconds behind, following by the UCO novice “A” and “B” teams. The varsity boat was coxed by Rachel Basinger along with Calah Lynes, Laura Borkenhagen, Jessica Lawson, Brittany Koster, Kristin Philhower, Ashley Lawson, Rachel Kliewer and Katie Spaulding.

In the Varsity 4+ race, the Stars finished in 8:01 for a 16-second victory over the UCO's varsity “A” team, with the “B” squad close behind in third.

The “A” team was made up of coxswain Christina Cantrell, Stephanie Lay, Sarah Jones, Sierra Crook and Katerina Gabrovska. Coxswain Lauren Winston, Jill Harrison, Courtney Craig, Nicole Gibbon and Kasey Bartodej made up the “B” team.

The Bronchos continue the season Saturday with the Tulsa Duals.
