Bronchos Run At Ray Vaughn Classic

OKLAHOMA CITY (April 3) –
Edna Spencer had a trio of top-10 finishes to lead the Central Oklahoma track and field team here Saturday in the 40th Annual Oklahoma Christian Ray Vaughn Classic.

Spencer came in fourth in the long jump with a leap of 17-4 ¼ while also placing seventh in the 100-meter dash (13.35) and 10th in the 200-meter dash (28.74).

The Bronchos had several other top-10 placings, the highest coming in the 5,000-meter run where Julia Crocker was third with a time of 21:02.02.  Cara Cox was fifth in that race at 22:38.65.

Shana Williams was fourth in the 400-meter dash in 1:04.84 and Angel Vick took fourth in the 800-meter run in 2:33.47, while Alina Istrate was fifth in the 1,500-meter run with a 5:13.98 clocking.

UCO had two placers in the pole vault as Hannah Gibson was fifth and Shiloh Layn sixth, with Brittany Davis taking fifth and Sarah Niles sixth in the heptathlon.  Jessica Jacobs also placed ninth in the 100-meter dash.

The Bronchos go to Denton, Texas for the North Texas Spring Classic next Saturday.
