DUNCAN, Okla. (Oct. 26) –
Emily Leahey shot a final-round 71 to lead Central Oklahoma to a third-place finish in the Oklahoma Intercollegiate here Tuesday as the Bronchos wrapped up its fall season.

UCO shaved eight strokes off its first-round score in shooting a closing 306 at the par-71 Territory Golf Club and ended the two-day, 36-hole tournament with a 620 total.  Tarleton State won the 15-team event at 592, followed by Northeastern State (608), the Bronchos and Nebraska-Omaha (622).

Leahey knocked 11 shots off her first-day score with the career-best one-under 71 that left her tied for 11th in the individual standings with a 153 total.  Raelynn Farthing and Taylor Neidy both shot 78s, while Chaney Uhles had a 79 and Erica Bensch an 83.

“We didn't play as well as we had been and had some more big holes that really hurt us,” said head coach Michael Bond, whose team finished first, second, third and fourth in four fall tournaments.  “I wish we would have closed out better than this, but we had a good fall and we'll work hard to get better in the off-season.”
