SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Sept. 20) –
McKenzie Caldwell and Katy Kashwer scored two goals apiece to pace streaking Central Oklahoma to a 6-0 thrashing of Texas A&M International here Sunday afternoon.

It was the fifth straight win – all by shutout – for the Bronchos, who improved to 5-3-1 with their highest-scoring game of the season. UCO's previous high came on the same field just two days earlier with a 4-0 rout of St. Mary's.

Caldwell, a sophomore defender who entered the day with one career goal in 30 games, scored twice in nine-minute span and Kashwer had a goal in each half as the Bronchos dominated from start-to-finish.

UCO outshot the Dustdevils 24-5 and didn't allow a single shot on goal, with Samantha Rusk going the distance between the posts to record the shutout.

“It was great to see us get our offense going on this trip and we're playing with a lot of confidence now,” UCO coach Mike Cook said. “We're getting better every time out and just need to keep working hard.”

Kashwer scored an unassisted goal just 8:20 into the contest to give the Bronchos a quick 1-0 lead, with Caldwell getting her first score at the 20:03 mark off a Tiffanie Meek corner kick that Beth Helm passed on.

Caldwell came through again at 28:41 when she headed in Stephanie Fleig's corner kick and UCO took a 3-0 lead into halftime.

Meghan Saliba upped the advantage to 4-0 in the 57th minute off a pass from Brittni Walker and Walker picked up another assist at 63:01 on Kashwer's second goal of the game.

The Bronchos completed the scoring in the 79th minute when Katelyn Cropp took a Nathalie Bernigaud pass and knocked in a shot from close range.

UCO puts its winning streak on the line Thursday when the Bronchos host near-by rival Oklahoma Christian at 4 p.m.
