ABILENE, Texas (Oct. 25) -- Central Oklahoma struggled from the outset and was never in the match in dropping a three-set Lone Star Conference decision to Abilene Christian here Saturday night.
The Wildcats rolled to a 25-16, 25-16, 25-14 win, dropping the Bronchos to 12-17 on the year and 5-5 in league play. ACU improved to 18-8 and 5-4.
UCO hit just .055 in the match with just 27 kills and 21 errors in 109 attacks and managed only two blocks.
“We played about as bad as we could play and that was disappointing coming off a good win the other night over Angelo State,” UCO coach Jeff Boyland said. “Our passing wasn't good, our hitters didn't follow the game plan and our blocked was atrocious.”
Nobody had double-digit kills for the Bronchos, with Kristin Wilson's seven leading the way. Jessica Legako had six kills and Kim Iten five along with a team-high 14 digs.
UCO returns to Edmond for its final homestand of the season this week, starting with a Thursday contest against Texas Woman's.
