Estela Castillo, Layne Ailshie Named WGCA All-American Scholars

Central Oklahoma Duo Among 1,500 National Award Winners

FRISCO, Texas – Central Oklahoma women's golfers Estela Castillo and Layne Ailshie were named All-American Scholars Monday, announced by the Women's Golf Coaches Association.

The two Bronchos are among more than 1,500 collegiate golfers recognized with the prestigious honor. Student-athletes must maintain a grade point average of 3.50 or higher, be an amateur through the end of the team's season, and participate in at least 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds.

Castillo, who just completed her junior season for the Bronchos, holds a 3.85 GPA and is a professional media major. The Spain native has played in every round of every tournament over the past three seasons for Central.

Ailshie, who just finished her sophomore season, holds a 3.65 GPA and is a psychology major. The Fort Gibson, Oklahoma native played in every event for the Bronchos this season and played in six tournaments during her freshman season.

The duo leads UCO back on the course this fall.
