Drake Lee Named MIAA Hitter of the Week

Central Oklahoma Senior Led Bronchos To 3-1 Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Oklahoma senior Drake Lee was named MIAA Baseball Hitter of the Week, the league announced Monday.
 
Lee also earned the award in Week 3 earlier this season.
 
Central Oklahoma went 3-1 this past week, rebounding from a midweek loss to No. 7 Rogers State with a three-game sweep of Arkansas – Fort Smith. Lee led the way for the Bronchos.
 
The first baseman and Lafayette, Louisiana native went 10-for-17 at the plate this week, a .588 batting average. Lee had two home runs, two doubles, 10 RBIs and seven runs scored.
 
Lee went 3-for-5 with a double and a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored, in Tuesday's loss to Rogers State. In Game 1 against Fort Smith, Lee was 4-for-5 with a double, a home run, five RBIs, and three runs scored. He was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle.
 
In Game 2, Lee went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. In the finale on Sunday, Lee went 1-for-3.
 
Central Oklahoma is 23-20 this season with a 14-15 record in the MIAA. The Bronchos are currently tied for eighth place in the league standings with two weeks left to play.
 
UCO plays at Northeastern State on Tuesday and will host No. 16 Central Missouri this weekend at Wendell Simmons Field.
