Madison Hamilton Named MIAA Pitcher of the Week

Central Oklahoma Freshman Went 1-0 In Two Appearances For The Bronchos

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Oklahoma freshman Madison Hamilton was named MIAA Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Monday.
 
UCO went 1-1 this week returning to Gerry Pinkston Stadium to host Drury for a non-conference doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. Hamilton, a right-hander from Hinton, Oklahoma, made appearances in both games for the Bronchos.
 
In Game 1, she came out of the bullpen to throw three scoreless innings, allowing only one baserunner with a walk and recording one strikeout. While UCO lost 5-2, Hamilton kept the visiting Drury Panthers off the scoreboard over the final three innings to give the Bronchos a chance.
 
She got the start in Game 2 and threw a complete-game, eight-strikeout performance to get the win. Hamilton gave up just two runs on four hits and issued no walks while the Bronchos won 3-2 to earn the split.
 
Hamilton has made just eight appearances for the Bronchos in 24 games this season. She's thrown 18 2/3 innings and has a 1-1 record with one save on the year. The freshman has 15 strikeouts and a 4.50 earned run average.
 
Central Oklahoma has just one non-conference doubleheader again this week on Friday, March 13. The Bronchos host Texas A&M International at 2 p.m. & 4 p.m. UCO will open MIAA play the following weekend.
