McKenna Huston Leads UCO On Day 1 At Pitt State

Central Oklahoma Competing In Two-Day Gorilla Classic

PITTSBURG, Kan. – Nearly half of Central Oklahoma's entries in the 11th annual Russ Jewett Indoor Gorillas Classic at Pittsburg State's Plaster Center competed Friday on Day 1 of the two-day meet.

McKenna Huston's fourth-place finish in the 600-yard race led the way. The sophomore competed in the event for the first time this season and finished in 1:27.81 for the top five performance. Amiya Hill also competed and finished in 1:31.98 for a 12th-place finish.

Deriayah Lee was the lone competitor in the 60-meter hurdles prelims Friday and finished 17th with a time of 9.09 seconds.

Lauryn Thaggard competed in the 60-meter dash prelims and finished 79th in 8.23 seconds. Mikayla Stephenson finished 83rd in 8.26 seconds.

Lily Melton wrapped up Day 1 for Central with the 5,000 meters. She finished 16th with a time of 18:22.53.

Central Oklahoma is back for Day 2 beginning at noon.
