Central Oklahoma Returns For Spring Season With Third-Place Finish

HOUSTON – Central Oklahoma finished third at the season-opening Houston Classic that wrapped up Tuesday at the Golf Club of Houston.

UCO finished with a 54-hole 874, posting rounds of 297 and 291 on Monday, and finishing with a 2-under-par 286 on Tuesday in the final round. Dallas Baptist (850) won the team title. Harding (866) was also ahead of the Bronchos. Midwestern State (877) and Missouri St. Louis (882) rounded out the top five.

Karsten Paciotti led the Bronchos with a fourth-place finish in the individual standings. The senior from Katy, Texas shot a 4-under 212 (70-71-71). Nick Canales finished ninth with an even-par 216 (73-74-69).

Baylor Bostick made it three in the Top 15 with a 14th-place showing. He shot a 2-over 218 (78-71-69). Ty Hyatt (231) and Rhett Hughes (235) were also in the lineup for the Bronchos. Brock Jerman (225) competed as an individual this week.

Canales and Bostick's 3-under 69s on Tuesday were low scores for the round. Canales started the day on the par-5 eighth and began with three straight pars. He had three birdies on the back nine and two more to finish on the front nine. Bostick also started on No. 8 and also had five birdies in his round.

Paciotti started on No. 7 and after a par on the first hole, sank three-straight birdies. He sank five straight par putts on the back nine and then seven-straight from No. 18 to No. 6.
