UCO Finishes Runner-Up In Fall Finale

Bronchos Take Second At DBU Classic

ROCKWALL, Texas – Central Oklahoma wrapped up the fall season with a runner-up finish at the DBU Classic Tuesday at Rockwall Golf Club.

The Bronchos slipped from the lead in shooting its highest round of the season in Tuesday's final round. UCO closed the 54-hole tournament with an 863 (285-284-294). The 6-over-par 294 on Tuesday is the highest UCO team score through 15 rounds this fall.

St. Mary's won the team title with an 855 (278-294-284). Host Dallas Baptist finished third with an 866 and Southern Arkansas was two back in fourth place with an 868. Midwestern State rounded out the top five with an 881.

Baylor Bostick finished sixth individually to lead the Bronchos. The junior shot a 2-under-par 214 this week. He started with an even-par 72 on Monday and shot a 1-under 71 in the second round. On Tuesday, the Duncan native shot another 1-under 71 to finish the tournament.

Bostick started with a birdie on No. 1 and was back to even after a bogey on No. 5. He made 15 par putts on the day, including each hole from No. 6 to No. 16. He made his second birdie of the day on the Par 4 17th to get back to 1-under for the round. This week, Bostick made seven birdies to counter five bogeys and sank 42 par putts.

Bryant Polhill and Nick Canales tied for 10th individually as both carded 1-over-par 217s this week. Polhill started with a 4-under 68 on Monday before shooting a 1-over 73 later in the day. He shot a 4-over 76 on Tuesday. Canales started with a 1-over 73 and then had back-to-back even-par 72s to close out the tournament.

Karsten Paciotti and Rhett Hughes tied for 19th with 4-over-par 220s. Paciotti had rounds of 76-68-76 and Hughes recorded rounds of 72-73-75. Brock Jerman also competed as an individual and shot a 25-over 241 (87-79-75).

Central Oklahoma closed out the fall semester with Tuesday's tournament. The Bronchos won three titles and finished runner-up twice – both to St. Mary's.
