Central Plays First Home Game Monday Night

Bronchos Welcome Future DII Program Texas A&M Texarkana

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma makes its home debut Monday night with a non-conference clash against Texas A&M Texarkana. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

UCO is 0-3 this season after a trip to Wisconsin last week.

The Eagles of Texarkana are currently an NAIA program competing in the Red River Conference. TAMUT will soon transition to Division II and the Lone Star Conference. The Eagles are 1-0 on the season. TAMUT beat Champion Christian last week and will play Langston and Nelson in Waxahachie this weekend before coming to Edmond.

"We had some good things happen in Wisconsin even though we obviously didn't get the wins we wanted," UCO head men's basketball coach Bob Hoffman said. "We also learned where some of our deficiencies are. We just need to grow and learn from last weekend and come out here and take care of business.

"It'll be great to play in front of our fans at home," Hoffman continued. "I think playing at home will help us settle in a little more and hopefully have better results."

Central Oklahoma is averaging 65.7 points per game after three games to start the season. The Bronchos have a 40.1 field goal percentage, a 32.0 3-point percentage, and a 79.6 free-throw percentage. UCO is averaging 5.3 made 3-pointers per game and 14.3 made free-throws per game.

Defensively, Central is allowing 79.3 points per game with opponents shooting 48.8 percent overall, 43.7 percent behind the arc, and 66.7 percent at the line. Teams are making 10.3 3-pointers per game against the Bronchos and 10.7 free-throws per game.

Donovan Lovelace put up 22.0 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in his first three games with the Bronchos. The senior forward also averaged 3.0 steals and 1.1 blocks per game. His seven made 3-pointers are a team high.

Jacobi Sebock, a fifth-year forward, put up 15.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game last week. After two 11-point outings to start the year, he scored 24 in the third game in Wisconsin.

Junior guard Jack Robinson is the team's leading rebounder after three games. He pulled down 21 boards in three games and averages 7.0 per contest heading into the home opener. Robinson averages 5.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game.

Jarreth Ingram (6.3), Trey Tuck (6.0), Pavel Ivanov (5.3), Brady Hancuff (3.3), and Ajani Jamison (2.0) help out in scoring as well.

Central Oklahoma will remain home next weekend and the Bronchos are playing 7 of 8 November games in Hamilton Field House. UCO hosts the Central Region Challenge Nov. 13-14 and will play Minnesota Crookston and Oklahoma Christian. Northwestern Oklahoma State will also be in Edmond next weekend and play the same two opponents.

UCO also has home games against Hesston College and UNT Dallas later this month. The Bronchos open MIAA play against Missouri Southern and Pittsburg State at the end of the month in Edmond.
