UCO Senior Is Third Broncho To Earn Top Academic Honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Oklahoma senior midfielder Claire Mullen was named co-MIAA A-Game Scholar Sunday prior to the beginning of the MIAA Women's Soccer Championship quarterfinals.

A senior from Lawrence, Kansas, Mullen is a 4.0 student in the Dr. Virginia Peters Department of Kinesiology and Health Studies. Northwest Missouri's Makenna West, a 4.0 student in applied health and sports medicine, shared the honor with Mullen.

Mullen is a four-year letterwinner at Central that has appeared in 60 matches for the Bronchos since 2023. She made three starts this season. Mullen helped lead UCO to the national tournament as a sophomore and has the Bronchos in contention for another trip this fall.

The winner advances to the semifinal round in Wichita, Kansas on Friday, with the postseason tournament championship match to be played Sunday in Wichita.

UCO is aiming to reach the final for the third consecutive season and win its first title since 2018.

Mullen is the third Broncho to win the A-Game Scholar award in women's soccer. Kassidy Collins (2023) and Lauren Piper (2025) also earned the honor.
