INDIANAPOLIS – Central Oklahoma is ranked seventh in the Central Region in the latest NCAA Power Index rankings used this season to determine the national tournament field.
UCO is 9-5-3 this season and plays its final game of the regular season on Wednesday night at Northeastern State. The Bronchos have qualified for 16 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championships and are looking to return to the national tournament for the first time since the 2024 season.
The NCAA Power Index, or NPI, is a ranking system used in Division II and Division III to evaluate team performance. NPI considers game results and the strength of opponents to calculate a team's NPI value and ranking.
The Central Region is made up of teams from the MIAA, the Great American Conference, and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The three conference champions will receive automatic qualification to the national tournament and five at-large bids will be given to make up the eight-team field.
The Central Regional will be played in two, four-team tournaments with the top two seeds hosting. The first and second round are scheduled for Nov. 13 & 15. The regional championship and national quarterfinals will be played Nov. 20 & 22. The national semifinals and national championship game will be played Dec. 3 & 5 and will be hosted by the MIAA in Kansas City as part of the NCAA Fall Championships Festival.
UCO has qualified for the national tournament 16 times since starting the program in 1998.
