Central Pair Sets Records In Texas

Sai Brookins-Fleming And Deriayah Lee Set School Records At West Texas

CANYON, Texas – Central Oklahoma track & field standouts Sai Brookins-Fleming and Deriayah Lee competed in West Texas A&M's Last Chance Meet Sunday and both set school records in hitting NCAA provisional qualifying marks to end the season.
 
Brookins-Fleming broke the 200-meter school record in finishing second place in 23.98 seconds. She came back for the 400-meter race won the event with a 54.86-second mark.
 
Lee competed in the 400-meter hurdles and finished second with a time of 1:00.27, setting a new school record herself.
 
Brookins-Fleming has provisional qualifying marks in the 100m (11.75 seconds), the 200m (24.05) and the 400m (54.97). Lee has one provisional, in Sunday's 400m hurdles at West Texas. Both were a part of the 4x400-relay team that hit a provisional qualifying mark in March.
 
Lee has UCO's highest rated mark this season with Sunday's time in the hurdles. She ranks 33rd nationally. Brookins-Fleming ranks 67th in the 100m, 61st in the 200m, and 49th in the 400m.
 
The NCAA is scheduled to announce Tuesday the official list of national qualifiers for the Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in Pueblo, Colorado later this month.
