UCO Returns To Course For Spring Season

Central Oklahoma Competing In Houston Classic Monday and Tuesday

HOUSTON – No. 6 Central Oklahoma makes its return to the course Monday with the Bronchos competing in the Houston Classic, hosted by Southern Nazarene at the Golf Club of Houston.
 
The Bronchos are sending six players to Houston, with a five-man lineup and one individual. Jordan Wilson, Bennett Baldwin, Nick Canales, Baylor Bostick, and Dylan Henderson make up the lineup, with newcomer Rhett Hughes making his UCO debut as an individual.
 
Wilson, an All-American senior from Edmond, had a strong fall in four tournaments played. Last year's national runner-up, Wilson posted a 69.92 scoring average in 12 rounds of golf. He played the four tournaments 13-under-par and won the individual title in the final event of the fall.
 
Baldwin, another senior All-American who is from Stillwater, posted a 70.43 scoring average through five tournaments. Baldwin played 14 rounds of golf and nine of them he finished par or better. In the five rounds over par, each was just one stroke.
 
Canales posted a 71.6 scoring average in the fall, playing in all five tournaments. The sophomore won the first tournament of the year in Missouri. Canales had two tournaments under par and was 11-over through 14 total rounds for the fall.
 
Bostick only played in three fall tournaments but put together three rounds of par or better. The sophomore from Duncan posted a 73.75 scoring average. Bostick finished tied for fourth at the Washburn Invitational.
 
Henderson played in all five tournaments, posting a 73.36 scoring average. He posted five rounds of par to better and finished fifth at the Regional Preview.
 
Hughes will make his UCO debut. The redshirt freshman from Edmond, Oklahoma transferred to UCO at semester from Nebraska. He put together a 75.0 stroke average over three competitive rounds in the fall semester with the Huskers.
 
UCO competed in five fall tournaments, won three of them, and finished second in another. The Bronchos have four spring tournaments on the schedule. UCO will compete at the Oak Tree Invitational March 17-18, the FHSU Tiger Classic in Hays, Hansas March 31 – April 1, and the Firekeeper Invitational in Topeka, Kansas April 7-8.
