GREENSBORO, N.C. – Central Oklahoma made its official debut in the national rankings Tuesday when the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) released its weekly poll with the Bronchos No. 24 in the country.
Central Oklahoma is 9-2 this season and has a nine-game win streak heading into this weekend, when the Bronchos are scheduled to travel to Washburn for the first MIAA series of the season. UCO is scheduled to play the league series Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in Topeka, Kansas.
UCO was receiving votes in the ABCA Preseason rankings, as well as the Division II Baseball poll and the NCBWA poll. After three weeks of play, Central Oklahoma is receiving votes again in the DII Baseball poll and now is ranked in the ABCA poll.
UCO is scheduled to play at Washburn this weekend, and at Emporia State next weekend. The Bronchos return to Edmond March 7-9 to host Pittsburg State, which is receiving votes in the ABCA poll this week.
MIAA rivals Central Missouri (third) and Missouri Southern (17th) are also in the ABCA rankings this week.
