Baseball Season Ends In Regional

Bronchos Fall To Harding In Regional Consolation Final

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Central Oklahoma's season came to an end Friday with a 10-3 loss to Harding in the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship Central Regional.

UCO finished the 2025 season with a 36-17 overall record. The Bronchos went 23-13 in the MIAA to earn the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament. Central went 3-0 there to win the postseason title. As the No. 4 seed in the Central Regional, UCO went 0-2 with a loss to Arkansas Tech in Thursday's first round before the season-ending setback Friday against Harding.

"It just didn't go our way this week," UCO head baseball coach John Martin said. "How we played this weekend was not indicative of our season. Nothing went our way but that's the way it goes sometimes. Hate that it ended this way, but still proud of the guys for everything they've done for the program."

Central Oklahoma fell behind early Friday, giving up a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning. Harding scored a second run on a throwing error. The Bronchos immediately pushed back, scoring two runs in the second to tie the game.

Grant Randall hit a one-out double and advanced to third on a wild pitch before Davan Brady drew a walk. Matt Baughn laid down a sacrifice bunt that scored Randall and go Brady to second. Brady scored on Brooks Miller's single to left to make it 2-2.

Harding struck again in the third, adding an RBI double before a two-run home run that made the game 5-2.

Ty Chapman led off the sixth with a solo home run to make it 5-3, keeping UCO close. But the Bronchos wouldn't score again. Harding put up four runs in the bottom of the seventh and one more in the eighth to make it the final, 10-3.

UCO finished the game with five hits. Randall delivered two. Chapman had the one home run and Miller the single. Caden Robertson had a double in the first inning.

Brett Pense got the start for the Bronchos and lasted three innings. He gave up five runs on eight hits. Tristan Wittau kept Harding scoreless over the next three innings, giving up only two hits and a walk.

Valek Cisneros came on in the seventh and last just one inning. He gave up four runs on five hits. Chase Yarger hit two batters and gave up one run while recording one out. Denton Whitesdie gave up a walk and a hit and did not record an out. Brody Berlowitz finished the game, getting the final two outs.

Central Oklahoma posted its second consecutive 30+ win season and made it to the Regional for the second year in a row. The Bronchos have made five regional appearances under the direction of the 10th-year head coach Martin, who ends the year with a 318-181-1 record leading Central Oklahoma.
