Sydney Huck, Kaitlyn Parrott Earn All-Region Honors

UCO Duo Named First Team AVCA, D2CCA All-Region

TOPEKA, Kan. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) both announced All-Region Teams Wednesday and Central Oklahoma's Sydney Huck and Kaitlyn Parrott were named First Team All-Region on both teams.
 
The UCO duo moves on to the All-America ballots to be announced next week.
 
"It's awesome news for both Sydney and Kaitlyn" UCO head volleyball coach Edgar Miraku said. "They are both so crucial to everything we do and they are both great people to have in the program. Their success is a direct result of the work they put in every day."
 
A senior from McKinney, Texas, Huck was named First Team All-MIAA and the league's Hitter of the Year two weeks ago and leads the Bronchos into the national tournament this week. The outside hitter has 294 kills this season and her 3.92 kills per set average leads the MIAA. She has a .261 hitting percentage and has 17 matches this season with double-digit kills.
 
A junior from Allen, Texas, Parrott like Huck was also named First Team All-MIAA and she was named Libero of the Year. With 620 digs this season, she ranks sixth nationally in digs per set (5.69) and seventh in total digs. Parrott has 15 matches with 20 digs this season, and she has 47 aces to lead the Bronchos.
 
Huck was named First Team All-Region in 2022 by the D2CCA and was also the AVCA Central Region Freshman of the Year in 2022. She is the fifth two-time All-Region selection in school history. This is the first honor for Parrott.
 
Central Oklahoma is ranked No. 11 in the country and enters the national tournament this week as the No. 7 seed in the Central Region. The Bronchos play Concordia St. Paul Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Kearney, Nebraska in the regional quarterfinal.
