Central Wraps Up Fall Season In Texas

Bronchos Competing In DBU Classic Monday and Tuesday In Rockwall

ROCKWALL, Texas – Central Oklahoma wraps up the fall season with its fifth and final tournament Monday and Tuesday in the DBU Classic at Rockwall Golf Club.

The Bronchos are ranked No. 6 in the country in the Golf Coaches Association of America's Bushnell/Golfweek DII coaches' poll. UCO has won three out of four tournaments already this season and set a 54-hole scoring record in the tournament it took second place.

"We're hoping to finish strong and take some momentum into our break," UCO head men's golf coach Derrick Thompson said. "We've played really well in the first four tournaments and we don't want to let up now."

Baylor Bostick, Bryant Polhill, Karsten Paciotti, Nick Canales, and Rhett Hughes make up the lineup for the Bronchos and Brock Jerman is playing as an individual this week. Teams will tee off at 8:30 a.m. Monday and roll into the second round Monday afternoon. The tournament wraps up Tuesday morning with the third trip around Rockwall Golf Club's 7,182-yard Par 72 course.

Bostick is coming off his first career victory at the MSSU Fall Invitational last week at Shangri-La. He earned MIAA Men's Golf Athlete of the Week for the second time this season after shooting 4-under in the tournament. He also earned it after a 9-under performance in Edmond earlier this month.

Bryant Polhill has two top five finishes in his first four tournaments as a Broncho. The sophomore from Edmond has scores of 3-under, 1-under, 6-under, and even par in events this season.

Paciotti started the year with an even-par fifth-place finish and posted 54-hole scores of 1-under and 6-under before last week's 11-over at Shangri-La.

Canales has a win this season as well and has finished in the top seven in each of the four tournaments. He shot a 3-under to win The Mule, a 9-under to get third in Tulsa, and a 6-under to get seventh in Edmond. His 2-over-par tournament last week at Shangri-La earned him a fifth-place finish.

Hughes has been consistent, earning top 15 finishes in each even this season. He has a 5-under in Tulsa and a 3-under in Edmond to his credit. A 3-over last week earned him a season-best seventh place at Shangri-La.

Jerman competed for the first time in Edmond earlier this month and shot an even-par 210. He was 15-over last week.
