Central Oklahoma Begins Midwest Classic Monday In Missouri

Bronchos Competing In 54 Holes At Mules National Monday and Tuesday

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Central Oklahoma begins the Midwest Classic Monday with the first two of three rounds at Mules National Golf Club.

The 14-team event includes all 13 MIAA women's golf programs with Arkansas Tech of the Great American Conference rounding out the field. Players will compete in two rounds on Monday with the final round scheduled for Tuesday morning at the 5,564-yard Par 70 course.

Central Oklahoma will have Scarlet Sturch, MaKaylee Cowan, Grace Hall, Layne Ailshie, and Estela Castillo in the lineup this week. The Midwest Classic is the second of three straight weeks of tournaments for the Bronchos.

Sturch is coming off a career-best third-place finish at the Grace Shin Invitational in Edmond last week. The junior from Durant, Oklahoma shot an even-par 142 in the two-day 36-hole event at The Golf Club of Edmond. Sturch shot 1-over on Monday and 1-under on Tuesday.

Cowan and Hall both shot 4-over-par 146s in Edmond last week and the two tied for 14th individually in the tournament. Cowan, a junior from Yukon, Oklahoma, started with a 3-over on Monday and shot 1-over on Tuesday. Hall is a freshman from Austin, Texas and shot a season-best 3-under on Monday before shooting 7-over on Tuesday.

Ailshie, a sophomore from Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, finished 31st with a 10-over 152 (74-78). Castillo, a junior from Spain, finished 69th with a 20-over 162 (75-87).

Central Oklahoma will wrap up the three tournaments in three weeks stretch with the Regional Preview at St. Joseph Country Club in Missouri next week. Missouri Western is hosting the 2026 NCAA Central Region Championships there in May.
