James Curlee Earns National Award, Four Bronchos Named To Postseason Elite 100 List

Central Oklahoma had four student-athletes and a coach honored by D2Football.com's Elite 100 Team, released Thursday by the website honoring the top players and coaches from the 2024 season.

James Curlee was named Offensive Coordinator of the Year. Terrill Davis was named First Team, Montriel Lee Second Team, and Jaylen Cottrell and Jack Puckett were also listed on the squad.

Curlee, who was promoted to Associate Head Coach the first day of fall camp, dialed up the No. 1 offense in the country this season as Central Oklahoma posted an 11-2 record, won the MIAA championship, hosted a first-round playoff game, and reached the regional semifinals of the NCAA Division II Football Championship.

Central tallied 337 first downs and scored 577 total points – an average of 44.3 per game. All five marks are new school records for Central Oklahoma, which has competed in 117 seasons of football.

Lee paved the way for the offense, starting every game at right guard. He was named MIAA Offensive Lineman of the Year and was a First Team All-MIAA, First Team All-Region, and First Team All-American.

Davis, a consensus All-American, led the NCAA with 109 receptions and 1,609 yards and he hauled in 15 receiving touchdowns. The yards and TDs are new school records.

Puckett led UCO's defensive efforts. He had a team-high 102 tackles this season, including 15 tackles for a loss. Puckett's seven QB sacks were the most on the team as well.
