Spring Football Begins At UCO, Spring Game April 18

Bronchos Hosting Southern Nazarene For Exhibition Next Month

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma began spring football this week with the first of 15 practices that culminates with a spring exhibition game against Southern Nazarene.

UCO will practice this week before taking Spring Break off next week. Then four straight weeks of football that ends with the SNU game on Saturday, April 18 at Chad Richison Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.

Central Oklahoma and Southern Nazarene played last April in the first spring exhibition against outside competition.

"We're excited to be back," head UCO football coach Adam Dorrel said. "We've got a lot of guys in the program right now which is great for spring ball. We're looking forward to getting better and having a good spring. This part of the year is just as important as the season in developing our team."

"We are also happy to have SNU coming back again this year," Dorrel continued. "It's great that we have the opportunity to play outside competition instead of the traditional instrasquad scrimmage. They've got a good program and it will help us to see live action against someone else."

Central Oklahoma has 85 players in the program this spring, including 77 that were part of the team this past fall. Of the 77, 49 played for the Bronchos during the season. UCO went 6-5 in 2025 including a 4-2 record in Edmond. Dorrel is 28-18 in four seasons at Central Oklahoma, including a 19-5 record at Chad Richison Stadium.
