LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Central Oklahoma will begin the 2025 season next week as the No. 25 team in the country, according to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Preseason Top 25 announced Tuesday.
UCO opens the 2025 season next Friday, Jan. 31, in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The Bronchos are playing five games in the Gulf Shores Invitational, including the season opener against No. 4 Lenoir Rhyne. UCO will also play No. 6 Auburn Montgomery next weekend.
Central Oklahoma went 43-14 last season and qualified for the NCAA Division II Softball Championship Central Regional before its season ended there. The Bronchos return 12 players from last year's squad, including one All-American, three All-Region picks, and four All-MIAA selections.
UCO will follow the season-opening tournament in Alabama with back-to-back home tournaments at award-winning Gerry Pinkston Stadium in Edmond. The Bronchos co-host the UCO/OC Festival Feb. 7-8 and the Raising Cane's Softball Festival Feb. 14-16.
