National Preview Ends Early Due To Weather

Bronchos Finish Eighth In Florida

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Central Oklahoma got off to a good start in the final round of the National Preview, but playing through torrential downpour soon turned into the event being called early, leaving the Bronchos with a eighth-place finish.

UCO made two trips around PGA National Monday and started the third and final round Tuesday morning before rain became too much. Final results revert back to the 36-hole final from Monday.

"We were about halfway through the front nine and playing well, but they finally called us in," UCO head men's golf coach Derrick Thompson said. "Would've liked to see if we could have made a run up the leaderboard, but it's out of our control. We'll take what we can learn from this tournament and get home and get ready for the next one."

Central Oklahoma will take next week off before heading to St. Joseph, Missouri for the Regional Preview. St. Joseph Country Club is the site of the 2025 NCAA Division II Central/Midwest Super Regional.

The Bronchos have three October tournaments beginning with the Regional Preview. UCO is also visiting Topeka Country Club in Kansas for the Ichabod Invitational and Rockwall Golf Club in Texas for the DBU Classic.
