WACO, Texas – Central Oklahoma made its official debut in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Top 25 this week with the Bronchos ranked No. 23 in the country.
UCO, which was receiving votes just outside the Top 25 last week, moved into the official rankings with a big road win at Nebraska Kearney Saturday afternoon. The Bronchos are 3-0 on the season and 2-0 in the MIAA. This week marks the first time Central Oklahoma has been in the AFCA Top 25 since Sept. 6, 2005, when the Bronchos were ranked No. 24 in the country.
Central Oklahoma is also ranked No. 23 in the D2Football.com Top 25. The Bronchos were No. 25 last week and moved up two spots with their win over UNK.
UCO hosts Fort Hays State in Week 4. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff Saturday, Sept. 28 at Chad Richison Stadium. It's First Responders Night and a Blue Out, with all fans encouraged to wear their UCO Blue to the game.
Four teams from the MIAA appear in the rankings. Pittsburg State, Central Missouri, and Emporia State are all in front of the Bronchos. UCO and Emporia are the two remaining unbeaten teams in the league. Central Oklahoma beat previously ranked No. 2 UCM while Emporia handed Pitt State its only loss this season.
