Bronchos Open Fall Season In Texas

Central Oklahoma Gets New Year Started With UT Tyler Invite

TYLER, Texas – Central Oklahoma opened the 2024-25 season with the UT Tyler Invite Friday and Saturday.

The Bronchos sent their squad of six individuals into the fall tournament that featured four flights for both singles and doubles action.

Karyna Yurchenko highlighted the weekend, going 3-0 to capture the Flight 4 title. The junior from Ukraine also went 1-0 in doubles competition.

Newcomer Hui Soo, and sophomore Ayaka Koga, both went 2-1 in singles competition. Soo was also 2-1 in doubles play with teammate and fellow sophomore Anika Ouwejan. Koga went 1-0 in doubles play alongside Yurchenko.

Ouwejan bounced back from an opening loss and finished singles play 1-2. Pete Komada went 1-2 and Nefeli Zafeiri went 0-3 both playing in the top flight. The duo was 0-3 together in doubles play, also in the top flight.
