Blythe Buntrock, Pete Komada Appear In Latest Rankings

Both Listed In ITA Singles Top 75, Ranked Together In ITA Doubles Top 50

TEMPE, Ariz. – Central Oklahoma has two individuals ranked in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association national rankings, with Blythe Buntrock and Pete Komada appearing in both singles and doubles rankings.

The duo is ranked No. 23 in the country in the ITA Doubles Top 50. Buntrock is No. 71 and Komada No. 46 in the ITA Singles Top 75.

Komada plays No. 1 singles for the Bronchos and has a 1-3 record through the first month of the season. The sophomore from Japan is 1-1 against nationally-ranked competition and has faced a regionally-ranked opponent in all four of her matches.

Buntrock has played at both the No. 2 and No. 3 spot in the lineup for UCO this season. The senior from Henderson, Nevada is 1-0 at the second spot in the lineup and 1-2 in No. 3 singles. Buntrock is 1-0 on the season against regionally-ranked opponents.

Together, the duo is 1-4 at No. 1 doubles this season. After a season-opening win against Southwest Baptist, the duo has lost four in a row and dropped from No. 6 in the country in the previous rankings to No. 23. Buntrock and Komada are 0-1 against nationally-ranked opponents.

Central Oklahoma returns to the court this weekend in Durant, Oklahoma to face off against Southeastern Oklahoma State. SOSU is No. 38 in this week's rankings. The non-conference dual is scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m.
