Bronchos Finish Third In OKC

Central Oklahoma Got Four In The Top 20 Individually At One Day OCU Event

OKLAHOMA CITY – Central Oklahoma finished third at the Kyle Blaser Invitational Monday with the Bronchos posting a 655 in the one-day, 36-hole NAIA tournament.
 
The Bronchos shot an opening round 334 Monday morning before following with a 321 in the second round Monday afternoon.
 
Scarlet Sturch tied for 14th, Drew Faires finished 16th, and MaKaylee Cowan and Mimi Hoang both tied for 19th to give UCO four counting scores in the Top 20. Abbey McNeil also finished 32nd in the tournament.
 
Oklahoma City University won its host tournament with a 615 (314-301) with OCU's Maddi Kamas taking the individual title with a 148 (75-73).
 
Sturch posted a 10-over-par 82 in the first round before coming back with a 7-over 79 to finish 14th at 161. Faires posted an 11-over-par 83 and came back with a 7-over 79 to finish one back of Sturck at 162.
 
Cowan shot an 11-over-par 83 in both the first and second round. Hoang started with an 86, but fired an 80 in the afternoon to get to 166 with Cowan.
 
McNeil shot an 88 and 90 in her two rounds.
 
Central Oklahoma is back for Arkansas Tech's event in Springfield, Missouri April 8-9 at Rivercut Golf Course.
