LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 12) – Central Oklahoma moved up one spot in this week's National Softball Coaches Association Division II poll, coming in at No. 11.
The Bronchos earned 244 points in voting of 16 head coaches from around the country and are in the top 25 for the 46th straight week. Defending national champion North Georgia received all 16 first-place votes in staying atop the poll, followed by West Texas A&M, Rogers State, Tampa and Texas-Tyler.
Pittsburg State came in at No. 13 to join Rogers and UCO as Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association teams in the poll. Washburn and Missouri Southern both received votes.
The Bronchos opened MIAA play last week with back-to-back doubleheader sweeps of Washburn and Emporia State in stretching their winning streak to nine in a row and improving their record to 16-6.
UCO steps outside league play this weekend for the MIAA/NSIC Challenge in Pittsburg, Kan. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Bronchos play consecutive doubleheaders against Augustana, St. Cloud State and Winona State
