UCO Announces 2025 Baseball Schedule

Central Oklahoma Opens With Seventh Annual Edmond First Pitch Classic

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma announced this week its 2025 baseball schedule with the Bronchos set for another 50-game slate in the new year.

"We have 26 home games, which is just more than half the schedule, and we've been good at home," 10th-year head baseball coach John Martin said. "Our road games will be tough, but if we can defend home field and play well on the road, we have a lot of good pieces back this year that will help us contend for another regional."

UCO, which made its return to the national tournament in 2024, opens with the seventh annual Edmond First Pitch Classic at Wendell Simmons Field on campus. The Bronchos welcome eight other squads to Edmond with nine teams playing 14 games over the first four days of the season.

Central Oklahoma will be joined by Emporia State, Pittsburg State, and Northeastern State from the MIAA, as well as East Central, Oklahoma Baptist, and Southeastern Oklahoma State from the Great American Conference. Missouri – St. Louis (GLVC) and Metro State Denver (RMAC) will also be in Edmond for the festival. UCO takes on UMSL, MSU, SOSU, and ECU for its first four games.

The Bronchos will then head to Arkadelphia, Arkansas for the Henderson State Invitational. Central Oklahoma will play host HSU along with Ouachita Baptist and two games with Southern Arkansas.

UCO is scheduled to host Colorado Christian Feb. 14-16 for a four-game series in Edmond before opening MIAA play the following weekend. Central Oklahoma will play two midweek non-conference games March 11 vs. Arkansas Tech and April 29 at Oklahoma Baptist around its 36-game MIAA schedule.

The addition of Arkansas Fort Smith to the league this season gives the MIAA 13 baseball schools. UCO has 10 weekend series and will play Northeastern State and Rogers State three times each in midweek meetings to get to 36 conference games.

Central Oklahoma posted a 37-16 record in 2024, including a 25-6 record in Edmond. The Bronchos finished fourth in the MIAA. UCO qualified for the national tournament as the No. 5 seed in the Central Regional and went 1-2 in the playoffs.

UCO returns 25 lettermen from last year's squad, including 14 pitchers.

Martin enters his 10th season leading Central Oklahoma. He has led the team to 282 wins, four national tournament appearances, and one MIAA Championship.
