Terrill Davis, Nicky Quevedo Honored By MIAA

UCO Duo Earns MIAA Offensive & Special Teams Athlete of the Week Awards

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Oklahoma wide receiver Terrill Davis and kicker Nicky Quevedo both earned MIAA Athlete of the Week honors following big performances this week in Edmond.
 
Central Oklahoma beat Northwest Missouri 48-20 Saturday in Edmond. It's the first 28-point loss for the Bearcats since 2003. Davis led the way on offense with a school record 15 receptions – the most of any receiver in a single game this season. His 186 yards were more than Northwest allows per game all season (181). Davis had one touchdown – a 33-yard score to put the Bronchos up 14-0 in the first quarter.
 
Davis broke his own school record for receptions in a game. He broke the record with 14 catches in Week 2, and now has the top two games in school history. Davis ranks No. 1 in the country with 835 receiving yards through Week 6. He is second with nine receiving touchdowns and is 52 receptions are also second-most in the country. 
 
Quevedo scored 12 points Saturday in Edmond. The senior kicker and All-American (HM, 2022) went 2-for-2 on field goals including a career-long 47 yards. Quevedo also made a 29-yard field goal with 31 seconds left in the first half to give UCO a 24-7 halftime lead. His 47-yarder in the fourth quarter made it 34-17.
 
Quevedo was also 6-for-6 on PATs. The senior also handled kickoff responsibilities and had nine on the day with two touchbacks as UCO put Northwest on its own 25-yard line for an average field position. 
 
Central Oklahoma moved up to No. 8 in the D2Football Top 25 and No. 11 in the AFCA Top 25 this week. The unbeaten Bronchos visit Northeastern State Saturday afternoon in the annual battle for The President's Cup.
