Central Oklahoma Hosts Pitt State, Missouri Southern

Bronchos Welcome Two MIAA Matchups At Hamilton Field House

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma makes its long-awaited return to Hamilton Field House this weekend with two MIAA matchups Thursday and Saturday.
 
UCO, 5-14 on the season and 4-9 in the MIAA, hosts Pittsburg State Thursday at 5:30 p.m. The Bronchos will also welcome Missouri Southern to Hamilton Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
 
Pitt State is 14-5 this season with an 8-5 record in league play. The two teams played in Pittsburg, Kansas in December and PSU earned a 95-76 win. Gorilla guard Grace Pyle scored a school-record 41 points in the game. Teammate Karenna Gerber added 21. Those two lead the team in scoring at 16 points per game.
 
Gerber leads the team at 16.6 points per game and has a team-high 7.1 rebounds per game. Pyle averages 16.3 points per game and 6.6 rebounds per game. Macie Mays adds a third double-digit scorer at 11.9 points per game.
 
Pitt State has won three in a row in the series after a three-game win streak by Central Oklahoma from 2020-21. UCO trails in the all-time series 26-12.
 
Central Oklahoma welcomes Pittsburg State averaging 64.4 points per game. The Bronchos shoot 38.1 percent from the floor, 28.5 percent from behind the arc with an average of 5.7 makes per game, and 73.9 percent from the free-throw line.
 
Reagan Fox and Karly Wadsworth lead Central Oklahoma in scoring this season with both averaging 8.6 points per game. The duo leads the team in made 3-pointers. Wadsworth has 36 threes this season and is a 35.6 percent shooter from outside, and Fox has 28 makes at a 40.0 percent rate. Fox is also the leader at the free-throw line, making 92.7 percent of her attempts this season (38-for-41).
 
Alena Wilson and LaKysia Johnson both average seven points per game. Wilson has a team-high 63 made field goals this season and is averaging 7.8 points and a team-high 5.6 rebounds per game. Johnson is third on the team with 52 makes this season and is a 47.7 percent shooter from the floor, averaging 7.1 points per game.
 
Aliyah Llanusa adds 6.8 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game. Natalie Stice adds 5.7 points per game and has made 18 made 3-pointers in 19 games this season. Caley Young adds 5.5 points and 3.9 rebounds per game this season.
 
Missouri Southern, which plays at Newman Thursday night, comes to Edmond Saturday afternoon. The Lions have a 15-4 overall record and an 11-2 record in the MIAA. MSSU is on a 12-game win streak that started when the Lions beat UCO Dec. 7, 86-65.
