Central Oklahoma Tees It Up In Bartlesville Monday

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – Central Oklahoma is back on the course this week for the second week in a row as the Bronchos get a glimpse at the NCAA Regional Championship site for 2023-24, Hillcrest Country Club.

The Regional Preview tees off at 9:30 a.m. at the 5,928-yard par 72 track. UCO has its starting five plus an individual this week.

Estela Castillo (10:05 a.m. tee time), Jirasuda Khunarak (10:15 a.m.), Emma Shelley (10:25 a.m.), Scarlet Sturch (10:35 a.m.), and Mika Ramos (10:45 a.m.) make up the five that will work toward Central Oklahoma's team score this week. All five are starting on the 10th Monday morning. Drew Faires will also make her UCO debut Monday, playing as an individual. She will also tee off from No. 10 at 10:55 a.m.

UCO finished 15th in a stacked field at the DBU Women's Classic last week in Denton, Texas. That event featured the best teams in the country. The Bronchos are now going to measure themselves against the best teams in the Central Region.

Ramos led the Bronchos in the first tournament of the year. UCO played 54 holes last week over a three-day period.

Ramos shot an 11-over-par 227 in Texas. Sturch, making her UCO debut, posted a 14-over 230. Shelley, whose home course is Hillcrest, shot a 19-over 235 last week in Texas. Khunarak posted a 21-over and Castillo, also making her collegiate debut, shot a 23-over 239.

Central Oklahoma will make it three tournaments in as many weeks next week. After finishing the Regional Preview Tuesday, UCO will look to its annual Grace Shin Invitational at The Golf Club of Edmond Oct. 2-3.
