Central Oklahoma Competes At Southern Stampede

JOPLIN, Mo. – Central Oklahoma hit the course again Friday afternoon to take on the field at Missouri Southern's annual Southern Stampede at Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course.

Central Oklahoma took an 18th-place team finish with 503 total points. Madisyn Johnson, a freshman from Madisonville, Kentucky, was the high finisher for the Bronchos. She ran the 5k track in 20:00.03 as she made her collegiate debut.

Genevieve Young was the second Broncho to cross the finish line at 20:21.05. Two more Bronchos came across within a second of each other. Noel Buckhaults came through at 21:29.12 and Melohdee Marroquin was at 21:29.96. Kimberly Perez (25:09.06), Sydney Large (25.49.10), and Macie Cohlmia (28:22.20) also ran for Central.

UCO is not taking a week off before its next race. The Bronchos are returning to Stillwater, Oklahoma for the annual Cowboy Jamboree on Saturday, Sept. 23. Central Oklahoma will race its final regular season contest Oct. 7 in Texas.
