Four Bronchos Named All-Americans

Faith Brooks, Kenna Chamlee, Lauren Clark, Emily Overholt Earn CRCA All-American Honors

Four Central Oklahoma rowers earned CRCA All-American honors, it was announced Tuesday.

Faith Brooks and Kenna Chamlee were both named First Team All-Americans while Lauren Clark and Emily Overholt were both named Second Team All-Americans.

Brooks is now a two-time All-American after receiving Second Team honors last season. She is the fifth person in school history to earn two All-American honors. With Chamlee, Clark, and Overholt earning the honor for the first time, UCO now has 24 All-Americans in its 15-year history of rowing.

"We are delighted to hear that two were selected to First Team and another two were selected to the Second Team," head rowing coach Jen Gilbert said. "Faith was a Second Team All-American last year and is a First Team member this year. She continues to show she is a top performer for the university. Kenna graduates not only with a 4.0 perfect GPA from her master's program, but as a First Team All-American - what a way to end your collegiate academic and sporting career.

"Lauren is a freshman and has just continued to improve and improve across the entire season," Gilbert continued. "A 4.0 GPA, one of our top ranked team members and now an All-American in her first year. It's no secret our coxswains had a tough job this year, but we are ecstatic that Emily who ultimately steered the Varsity 8 has been rewarded for her dedication and commitment to the sport, to this team, and to herself."

The foursome led Central Oklahoma to a national runner-up finish at the Division II Rowing Championships this spring. UCO had nine wins throughout the spring from Florida to New Jersey to California and Oregon. The Bronchos finished national runners-up in both the Varsity 4+ and Varsity 8+ at nationals in New Jersey in May.

UCO has finished first or second at nationals six times in the past seven years.
