Jaden Parsons, Noah Olson Named To ABCA Gold Glove Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) announced last week its Regional Gold Glove teams and Central Oklahoma had two selections.

Jaden Parsons and Noah Olson were both named to the Central Region All-Defensive Team. The UCO duo were two of nine selections among more than 40 teams in the Central Region, and the Bronchos were the only school with two selections.
 
Parsons was selected as a second baseman following a standout season for the Bronchos. He led the team with a .353 batting average in playing 47 of 51 games this season. He started every game he played. Defensively, he had a .990 fielding percentage, making only two errors all season. He had 209 chances and had 105 putouts and 102 assists.
 
Olson was chosen as one of three outfielders on the team. The UCO right fielder played in 49 of 51 games this season and started 48 games. He was second on the team with a .344 batting average and led the team with 13 home runs. Defensively, Olson had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, making zero errors on the season. He had 115 chances, 112 putouts and three assists.
 
Olson earned First Team All-MIAA this season, as well as All-Region honors from the National College Baseball Writers Association. Parsons was a Third Team All-MIAA selection. Both were named to the MIAA's Gold Glove Team.
 
Central Oklahoma posted a 32-19 record this season and finished fifth in the MIAA.
