UCO Up To Seventh At Regional

LARCHWOOD, Iowa – Central Oklahoma inched up the leaderboard at the NCAA Division II Championships Central Regional Tuesday, moving from eighth place into a tie for seventh after the second round of play.

The Bronchos shot a 312 in the second round and are now at 618 after 36 holes. The final round of the championship is scheduled for Wednesday. The top three teams and two individuals not part of an advancing teams will head to Eureka, Missouri later this month for the NCAA Division II National Championships.

Jirasuda Khunarak continues to lead the Bronchos. On Monday, the junior posted an even-par 72. She followed that with a 6-over 78 on Tuesday. Her 36-hole score of 150 has her tied for 18th place in the individual standings heading into Wednesday's final round. Khunarak made 11 par putts and one birdie during her second round.

Mika Ramos had UCO's low score of the day on Tuesday, posting a 5-over 77 for the second day in a row. Ramos sank 13 par putts, including six in a row on the back nine, during her second round. Her 154 is tied for 31st in the field.

Madison O'Dell, Arin Zachary and Emma Shelley are all within three shots of each other heading into the final round of play. O'Dell shot a 79 on Tuesday and sits 41st with a 36-hole score of 159. Zachary posted an 83 on Tuesday and is 42nd at 160. And Shelley posted a 78 to finish her second round at 162. O'Dell had three birdies and eight par putts on Tuesday.
