Jirasuda Khunarak Leads Bronchos At Regional

Central Oklahoma Is In Eighth Place After The First Round of the NCAA Division II Central Regional

LARCHWOOD, Iowa – Central Oklahoma junior standout Jirasuda Khunarak is tied for fourth place following the first round of the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship Central Regional Monday at Great Falls Resort.

Central Oklahoma is in eighth place in the team standings following a 306.

Khunarak posted an even-par 72 in her first trip around Great Falls' 6,095-yard course. The Thailand native shot a 2-over-par front nine, including a birdie on the par-4 third hole. She sank nine consecutive par putts between 7 & 15 and then dropped in a pair of birdie putts on 16 & 17. She sank her 12th par putt of the day on 18 to finish the day with a 72.

Mika Ramos and Arin Zachary both posted 5-over 77s in their first rounds and are tied for 35th in the individual standings. Ramos had one birdie putt a dozen par putts. Zachary had 13 par putts in the round.

Madison O'Dell's 8-over 80 rounded out the scoring for the Bronchos. She is 45th individual. Emma Shelley posted a 12-over 74 and is tied for 48th.

Central Oklahoma will tee off Tuesday morning in the second of three rounds at Grand Falls. The top three teams and two individuals not on an advancing team will move on to the NCAA Division II National Championships in Eureka, Missouri May 16-20.
