Five Bronchos Earn All-GNAC Honors

CLACKAMAS, Ore. – Central Oklahoma placed five student-athletes on the All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference Team earlier this month.

Faith Brooks, Lauren Clark, Raphaela Sanchez, Emily Overholt and Sydney Large all were named First Team All-GNAC for the success on the water this season with the Bronchos. Central Oklahoma won the GNAC Championship for the second time in three years earlier this month before going on to the NCAA Championships and finishing national runner-up.

Brooks, who was named GNAC Freshman of the Year in 2021, earned First Team All-GNAC honors in 2022 and 2023 and is the first two-time recipient of the award for the Bronchos.

Clark and Sanchez both completed their freshmen seasons for UCO and were key members of the Varsity 8+ boat this season.

Overholt and Large are coxswains at Central and the two took turns in the eights and fours and were both successful in either boat, leading UCO to multiple victories all over the country this season.

Central Oklahoma joined the GNAC as an affiliate member in rowing in 2019-20, with the inaugural season canceled due to the pandemic. In 2020-21, UCO earned all individual awards and placed five student-athletes on the All-GNAC Team. In three seasons of rowing in the conference, Central Oklahoma has had 11 student-athletes earn all-conference honors.
