Lyday, who is from Wagoner, Oklahoma, set a school record in the shot put this season. In April, at the University of Oklahoma's John Jacobs Invitational, Lyday threw 14.19 meters in the shot put, breaking the school record and hitting an NCAA provisional qualifying mark. The throw ranks 26th in the country this season. The NCAA announced the Top 20 throws in the country were selected for the national championships later this month in Pueblo, Colorado.

Lyday has earned All-MIAA honors three times, twice in the shot put and another in the discus throw. She has 44 career Top 10 finishes, 26 career Top 5 finishes, and two career wins in her three seasons with the Bronchos.
