UCO Wraps Up Season At Regionals

LARCHWOOD, Iowa – Central Oklahoma women's golf wrapped up its 2022-23 season with a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Division II Central Regional Wednesday.

UCO posted a 54-hole score of 930 (306-312-312) after three rounds of play at Grand Falls Resort.

"We didn't play our best this week, but more importantly, I'm proud of the team and what they were able to accomplish this season," UCO head women's golf coach Michael Bond. "They kept fighting and gave their best efforts. I'm proud of them, and I'm especially proud of the seniors for what they gave to this program."

Madison O'Dell and Arin Zachary played their final tournaments for Central Oklahoma this week. O'Dell posted a 239 (80-79-80) and finished 44th in the region. Zachary shot a 243 (77-83-83) and finished 47th.

A trio of juniors rounded out the five for the Bronchos. Mika Ramos was UCO's low scorer, posting a 54-hole 228 to finish in 26th place. The junior shot back-to-back rounds of 5-over 77s before climbing up the leaderboard with a 2-over 74 on Wednesday. Jirasuda Khunarak finished tied for 33rd with a 231. She was fifth after the one round with an even-par 72 on Monday but followed with a 78 and 81 in the second and third rounds.

Emma Shelley also competed and finished tied for 44th alongside O'Dell. She improved her score every day, shooting 84-78-77 this week.
