Bronchos Finish 10th In Joplin

JOPLIN, Mo. – Mika Ramos and Emma Shelley led Central Oklahoma at Missouri Southern's Dr. Virginia Laas Classic with both finishing tied for 20th in the individual standings following three trips around Eagle Creek Golf Club.

Central Oklahoma finished 10th in the team standings with a 54-hole 991.

With this week's tournament, UCO is done with the 2022-23 regular season. The Bronchos will return to Joplin in two weeks for the 2023 MIAA Women's Golf Championships.

Ramos and Shelley both posted both finished the 54-hole tournament 25-over par. The juniors both posted scores of 241, with Ramos shooting 79-80-82 and Shelley shooting 82-77-82.

Jirasuda Khunarak finished tied for 47th with a 252 (84-86-82) and Arin Zachary finished 58th with a 257 (85-82-90). Madison O'Dell also competed for the Bronchos and shot a 264 (86-86-92).

Henderson State won the team title with a 54-hole 916 and HSU's Jinna Boonbumroongsuk won the individual title with a 1-over par 217 for the tournament. She posted two rounds of even par. No golfer shot under par in any of the three rounds this week in Joplin.
